The Huntington Beach Trail stretches for three miles between Bolsa Chica and the Huntington State Beach. Dogs are allowed on multi-use trails only, so you might have to contend with bikers, hikers and other walkers as well. A word of advice: dogs are not permitted in the beaches at any time and must be kept under a leash at all times.
